Sustainability Principles reflect the steel industryโs increasing focus on sustainability and its responsibility to take a holistic approach through actively addressing environmental, social, economic and corporate concerns.
The new Charter is organized into 9 principles and 20 required criteria by world steel association, reflecting the industryโs increasing focus on sustainability and its responsibility to generate positive impacts on people, our planet, and the prosperity of society.
These Sustainability Principles strongly encourage world-steel member organization to be proactively engaged in sustainability programs and to push for higher standards in their sustainability commitment and performance.
The Charter covers:
Four areas include Governance, Economic, Environmental and Social,
And 9 topics: responsible value chains, ethical & transparent operations, innovation& prosperity, climate action, the circular economy, environmental care, safety and health, our people, local communities.
